Fundraising & Membership Administrator

Forest and Bird is New Zealand’s leading independent conservation organisation.  Since 1923, we have been advocating and speaking out for nature on land and in our seas, and co-ordinating community-based projects throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

We are looking for an experienced membership administrator to look after our valued supporters.

This role is a important position for our organisation. We need a confident and friendly team-player to make sure everything our members and supporters need is there when they need it so our team can focus on giving nature a voice. This role involves a large amount of customer-service, so it is important for the person in this role to have great people skills and the ability to build awesome working-relationships. A can-do attitude and attention to detail is essential to manage the required database & financial reconciliation work.

A typical day in this role could see you processing merchandise orders in our web-shop, reconciling donations received through our bank account, or helping our supporters to use our online self-service membership portal.

To be successful in the role you will need the following:

  • Proven customer-service skills – you must demonstrate follow-up and excellent customer care and communication skills;
  • Excellent technical skills including Word, Excel (essential), and databases (desirable);
  • A high level of personal motivation, the ability to complete tasks independently, and in a timely manner;
  • Strong time management and organisational skills (essential);
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Good numeric capabilities – this role works with a lot of numbers!
  • Positive upbeat interpersonal skills to engage and work with staff, volunteers, and our suppliers;

Door to Door Manager

Are you an experienced door to door (D2D) charity fundraising team leader who wants to take your career to the next level?

If you want to become part of a family of fundraisers and you have a minimum of two years D2D team leading experience apply for this role. Sponsorship opportunities are available as part of your progression plan. Your main focus will be encourage, empower, train and develop your team while raising vital funds for the charity and build a strong and vibrant community.

Key tasks include:

  • Donor recruitment
  • Training and development
  • Site planning and locations management

Key selection criteria:

  • Strong track record of fundraising performance
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff
  • Effective problem solving and mediation skills
  • Minimum two year’s experience as a team leader
